The Ruskinn brand was founded in 1993 and rapidly became established as one of the world's leading suppliers and manufacturers of anaerobic and modified atmosphere workstations. In 2006, Ruskinn Technology Limited and Ruskinn Life Sciences Limited - were formed after a management buy out from Biotrace International plc.

Located in Ruskinn's purpose built area of the prestigious Sony Technology Centre, Pencoed plant in South Wales, Ruskinn is one of an elite group of UK medical companies offered the opportunity to share the benefits of Sony's renowned production know how and infrastructure. Ruskinn products are marketed directly in the US and Nordic countries; in other countries our products are marketed by our carefully selected and experienced distributor partners.

Modern science is moving forward at an incredible pace, Ruskinn Technology Limited provides both microbiologists and medical researchers with the advanced gas controlled workstations they need to increase productivity without compromising quality.

Our world leading product portfolio includes Anaerobic, Microaerophilic and Hypoxic workstations providing controlled environments for a wide range of applications.

Already we have over 1000 installations in more than 40 countries. However, it is not in Ruskinn's nature to stand still. We invest heavily in R&D and are continuously refining and extending our portfolio to meet the changing and varied needs of our customers.

Assisted Conception

Research has shown that the development of oocytes and embryos occur best in low oxygen/high humidity atmospheres at stable temperatures 1-2. Embryo quality and pregnancy rates can be improved if all laboratory procedures and microscopic examinations during the period from oocyte retrieval (OR) to embryo transfer (ET) can take place in a stable biological atmosphere

Ruskinn has developed a revolutionary new incubated workstation which is totally enclosed within an optimised culture environment where all open manipulations and incubations can take place. Ac-tive® IVF System significantly decreases gamete and embryo stress and significantly increases pregnancy rates. The advanced ergonomic design then enables rapid transfer of media, petri dishes and pipettes and allows quick, comfortable hand access for the embryologist.

Microbiology

Ruskinn range of anaerobic workstations are designed specifically to help microbiologists to cope with rising workloads. From the "personal" Bugbox with a capacity of 280 plates to the "ultimate" Concept 1000, you will find the ideal workstation for your laboratory.

Cell Biology

Ruskinn range of hypoxic workstations allow researcers to study even the most complex of cell interactions under perfect hypoxic or anoxic conditions. Oxygen, Carbon dioxide, temperature and humidity can be precisely controlled to create the perfect environment for all experiments. The advanced ergonomic design then enables rapid single plate loading, comfortable hand access and flexible use of a wide range of accessories.

Stem Cell Investigations

Stem cells promise massive potential for regenerative medicine. To ensure researchers can realise this potential, the Sci-tive workstation from Ruskinn has been specifically designed to enable both embryonic and adult stem cells to be isolated under optimum conditions. This ensures the differentiation of the cells is carried out under controlled conditions and the process can be studied with integrated microscopes and other reading equipment.
